Paralegal
Nia Robinson is a Paralegal at Alun Jones Family Law, where she supports the firm’s solicitors in advising clients across a wide range of family law matters arising from relationship breakdown.
Nia joined the firm in October 2026 as a Law graduate from Cardiff University, having achieved a 2:1 in her studies. Her interest in Family Law was developed during her studies through exploring the way in which equitable property rights are determined when cohabiting relationships break down under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (TOLATA).
This interest led to her final-year dissertation, which examined whether the current law sufficiently recognises the factors that influence couples when making financial and property arrangements within their relationships. She also explored the potential impact of economic abuse, and the differences in the legal position of cohabiting couples compared with married couples following relationship breakdown. Nia continues to follow discussions surrounding potential reform in this area.
Alongside her studies, Nia gained valuable practical experience through pro bono work, including involvement with an NHS Continuing Healthcare Scheme. She also undertook skills workshops to develop her negotiation and interview skills, as well as gaining wider legal work experience.
Nia has a strong background in customer service, which has enabled her to develop excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Working directly with a wide range of people has strengthened her ability to listen carefully, understand individual needs, remain professional under pressure, and build positive relationships with clients and colleagues. These transferable skills complement her legal training and provide a strong foundation for developing her career within the firm.
